Don Vita
​is a 35+ year veteran of the hospitality industry with experience in restaurants, catering operations, and hotels.  A Wisconsin native, he started his career working in a restaurant when he was just 15, and he holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin - Stout where he graduated Cum Laude in 1993. Since then he has worked with several industry leading companies such as Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Worldwide, Winegardner & Hammons, Wolfgang Puck, and Bon Appetit.
 
Don's area of expertise encompasses all facets of running successful operations including: staff recruitment, hiring and training; team building; project management; menu development; marketing; financial oversight, cost management and more. He has been involved in new construction projects, renovations of existing facilities, and re-branding.  

​Don is also a ServSafe® Instructor and Proctor, a ServSafe Alcohol® Instructor and Proctor, and a Certified Third Party Trainer as recognized by the Indiana State Excise Police. He is a decorated Veteran of War having served in the Persian Gulf in support of the Gulf War of 1991. He has also served on the Board of the Northern Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the Nappanee, Logansport, and Effingham, Illinois Chambers of Commerce.

Erin Vita
is an Indiana native, growing up in Parke County. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2002. While attending college, she was also working at the Turkey Run Inn and ultimately decided to focus her career on the hospitality industry. During her nine years at the inn, she worked her way up from Guest Service Agent to Sales Manager, and ultimately Assistant General Manager. Her experiences earned her expertise in multiple aspects of running a destination hotel and restaurant.

Erin went on to Extended Stay America hotels as a General Manager in Indianapolis. Over the course of six years, Erin worked her way up to Area Manager, and finally a District Manager of six properties in Indianapolis, South Bend, and Evansville.

Don and Erin married in 2011, the same year that Hoosier Hospitality Consulting was founded by Don. As HHC grew, Erin decided it was time to leave corporate America and join Don and focus her attention full time with HHC as the Operations Manager where she runs the office and sales side of the business.

Erin is also a ServSafe Instructor and Proctor and provides private classes for a variety of clients.

Don & Erin live in Sheridan, Indiana and are a few years from being empty-nesters; living with their youngest boys and near their other children and grandchildren.
